KIDS & COMMUNION

At Canyon Lake Community Church, we believe that Holy Communion—also called the Lord’s Supper—is a special and sacred practice for those who have placed their trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. As a church family, we celebrate Communion together on the first Sunday of each month. We do this in obedience to Jesus’ words in Matthew 26:26–29 and the Apostle Paul’s instructions in 1 Corinthians 11:23–26.

Once your child has made a personal decision to follow Jesus, they’re welcome to join us in taking Communion as part of the church body.

It’s a meaningful opportunity for families to talk with their kids about what Communion is and why it matters.

Before your child begins participating in Communion, it is important to take time to talk with them about what it means. Help them understand that this is a sacred moment for those who have chosen to follow Jesus, and that it’s a beautiful way to remember what He’s done for us.

As part of our Parenting Pathway, we've created a booklet that will help guide you through a discussion with your child to prepare them for participating in Communion. This guide is written in a format to promote some Bible discovery and conversation to help you and your child know when they are ready to take Communion.
