At Canyon Lake Community Church, we strive to be a church of seven percenters. What does that mean? Statistics show that in most churches across the country approximately 7% of the people attending do all of the volunteering. At Canyon Lake, we encourage everyone to serve in some way, thus an entire church of seven percenters.
If you've been growing in Christ during a Sunday teaching series, it's only because some faithful volunteer has been serving our children in Sunday school. If you've been able to praise God in worship, it's because of a faithful volunteer lending their time and talents to be part of the worship team. If you've felt welcomed on campus each Sunday, it's due to a faithful team of greeters and ushers. Every aspect of Sunday morning functions because of faithful volunteers.
Jesus said that He didn't come to be served, but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many. We are certainly not above Jesus, so we serve for Him because He gave His life for us. We serve out of gratitude because He has changed our lives and we want to afford others that same opportunity. We are able to proclaim the gospel on Sundays because of faithful volunteers.
If you want to know how you can serve, here is a list of volunteer opportunities. You can email the person listed for more information. They'd be happy to answer any questions.
