This week we begin a series titled "The Future of Sex: Gay, Straight and Other." In this series we'll be covering the LGBT & WXYZs of human sexuality from a biblical standpoint. There is a new normal in the land and it's going to drastically alter everything. The evangelical church is already engaged in biblical scholarship that is reframing the question of same-sex relationships. That's why it's such a vital topic, because ultimately it deals with biblical authority.
In this series I'll begin by dealing with how we frame the conversation with an examination of the Harm Principle, this principle which asks, "If it's not hurting anyone, why is it any of your business?" This will clearly demonstrate why political arguments are by nature vapid and empty.
I'll give a detailed account of the biblical position, as well as answer some common questions and objections, such as:
